SESTRIERE: NEW LIFTS FOR THE SEASON 2009/2010
Sestriere SpA is investing 5 million euros for rehabilitation work in the valley of Black River (between Fraiteve and the Col Basset) and modernizing the Resort of the Via Lattea.

Work began in June, consists of installing three new plants for the connection of the Valley of the Rio Nero (Sauze side) with the Monte Fraiteve and (now hub of the ski areas of Sestriere, Sauze Sansicario and, thanks to cable designed to 2006).

Vittorio Salusso, station director of Sestriere, explains the improvement of services: "Passing from Fraiteve, we aim for faster connections and comfortable: Sansicario from the slopes of Sauze d'Oulx is arriving in just ten minutes by chairlift, compared with 48 minutes now, but from Sestriere to Sauze it will take a quarter of an hour. " With the implementation of the new chairlift Colo (which will fly over the Rio Nero) will connect the valley of the Rio summit of the Black Fraiteve in nine minutes.
